In order to ensure we get the most out of our time during your Evaluation, we’ve put together the following tips:
1st appointments:
If we have not yet met to discuss your medical history, please be sure that you fill out your intake form with as much detail as possible.
It’s an extensive form…but rest assured, ALL that information will be used to determine the CAUSES of your complaints in the initial discussion, which will help structure the hands-on portion of the Evaluation. (ie: that fall on your tailbone when you were a kid CAN be a one of the reasons you have migraines!)
Bring someone:
When planning for the Evaluation, consider bringing someone that might be helpful in this process, like a friend or loved-one. This can be especially helpful during the initial discussion about history, or if we will be assessing any sensitive areas of your body.
Many of our Clients have even gotten a clinician or personal trainer to come with them. (We love collaboration!)
What to wear:
It is important that you understand that we will be looking at your WHOLE body and usually MANY systems within it…so what you wear on your body is important.
Everyone should definitely wear or bring shorts…YES, even if you are coming for an upper-body issue!
Females: it is best to wear a sports bra or halter top with LOOSE layers on top of that.
Appropriate clothing ensures as much access to your body and skin as possible for our hands-on assessment and will allow for free movement and comfort.
We don’t recommend wearing anything tight!
Testing:
Once we’ve finished the Assessment-portion of the Evaluation, we will start some hands-on treatment!
We expect measurable progress with EVERY treatment, so it’s always helpful for you to think of a TEST for your complaint.
This TEST can be a movement or action that you find limited or painful that you can do BEFORE and then right AFTER the treatment to see what gains or progress we made!
Some examples could be: sliding your hands toward your toes, squatting, reaching overhead or even walking fast.
If you cant think of anything, that’s ok! It’s just a nice way to show how quickly we can get improvement!
Portal:
After the Evaluation appointment, you’ll receive an email or text inviting you to register for your Portal.
The portal is where you’ll manage your scheduling and a lot more, so definitely look out for that.
If there’s any further questions, feel free to reach out to us. We will see you soon!
